Jack Brayman's Rating System

KISS.

No, not Gene's tongue and boys in war paint.

KISS as in "Keep it simple, stupid."

No complicated formulas; no complicated money-management systems. Short, sweet and too-the-point. My plays are rated on a scale that ranges between 10 and 100 Dimes.

This is the simplest and best way to let you know how strongly I feel about a selection each day, or how one selection compares to others on a given day.

And keep this in mind: If I'm showing a profit of 300 dimes (wins minus losses plus vig included), that means a gambler betting $10 per dime unit I released won $3000 as well (and that includes the losses and vig being subtracted).

Who is Jack Brayman?

Had a pretty successful 8-year run as a real estate broker here in Michigan where I'm based.

Then came 2008 and the recession.

Business tanked with the economy.

It finally started to rebound around 2013, but it's never going to be the same.

To make ends meet, I took a job as a ghost-writer for a online tip-sheet, proving my daily sports picks for their publications starting in 2010. You probably read my stuff because it was posted on a zillion sites designed to attract gamblers so they'd sign up for offshore sportsbook accounts.

I loved doing it and without it I don't know how I would have survived those lean years in the real estate biz.

I like to write and minored in English in college. I majored in business and "dabbled" in gambling as well.

I gave up my ghost-writing job in December. This will be the 1st time my picks are going to be available anywhere with my name on them.

No promises. No guarantees. We're either going to win together or I'll lose alone because you certainly aren't going to stick with me if I don't produce. And that's fair and to be expected.

My free winner: Binghamton (+6) at HARTFORD

# # #

Run the metrics at KenPom, and Hartford is better than Binghamton by .09. Add a 3-point shot for homecourt, and that becomes 3.09. Still not matching the point spread.

Run the metrics at TeamRankings, and Binghamton is better than Hartford by 2.1. Add that same 3-point shot for homecourt, and you'll find KenPom's .09 number.

It's no wonder my own intuition brought me to the conclusion Binghamton will keep this close, if not win the game outright.

Hartford, mired in a 3-7 ATS slide after a loss, is going to struggle against a Binghamton team that has won two straight and 6 of 8, not to mention that has covered four in a row on the road.

Binghamton, now 5-2 in America East play and sitting second, could make a run at the regular-season title, as long as it continues to play well on the road, where it has also covered 5 of 6 when catching points.

The Bearcats are aggressive on the glass, an area Hartford struggles. Thus, with second- and third-chance opportunities against a Hawks team that ranks 317th in the nation in total rebounds per game (32.2), you'll see Binghamton pull away like it did Monday.

Yes, these teams just met two nights back in upstate New York, where the Bearcats won by 10. It continued the torrid run Bnghamton is on, as it's now covered 6 of 7.

Let's take the points here, as Binghamton challenges for the outright win.
